....The day I got engaged!

F.B. & I decided to get engaged yesterday. After talking & discussing things. Of course there is no set date of when we will be marrying. Only that we decided to get engaged & start planning for our future.

It could even be 2-3 years more before we get married. F.B. will be finishing college in May. He's starting his OJT this semester. He is in college getting his bachelor degree in computer science. If all goes well- the company he does his job training with may hire him after graduation. Then he can also begin saving for our future. We need to get our finances in order before we plan to marry.

I need to look into all the legal procedures for the Philippines. If we get married, it will be at Justice of the Peace in the Philippines. Not really a wedding. We don't really want that. Just some family & friends & maybe a dinner after wards.

I would be moving to the Philippines. That would be a big adjustment for my life. Yes it is a big step & a big change. But it's something I want to do. I've been back here in the US a little over a week & I'm going crazy. I miss the Philippines... I want to go back. I would like to visit again in the late summer this year if it's possible & works out.

I need to find out all the legal procedures for me to stay over there & work legally- without giving up my us citizenship. We need to save money- so that when I moved over there we would be okay financially while I secured a job. I would like to work in a call center and be a customer service rep. I understand the US is better off economically & I might only be making half of what my US paychecks were over there, but I'm not looking to get rich or have a career. That's not what I want. What I want is to be with my boy, and for us to have a little house somewhere and start our own life.

Which reminds me- I applied for a job with General Electric (GE) to be a customer service rep in Fort Washington, PA which is out somewhere past Willow Grove? Anyhow I am getting a phone interview this Monday around 5pm. I already filled out an online application & someone will be calling to interview me Monday evening. So please pray for this. Work has really changed. And they were saying we are overstaffed & that there's really only supposed to be about 46-49 employees between day & night shift- and that in the future they may not be calling seasonal back anymore... so I need to find a new job to save for my future.

I ordered a ring guard for the ring F.B. gave me for Christmas- so that I can wear it on the proper finger. Though F would like to be able to get me a nicer ring in the near future & propose properly. But yes... it's official we are engaged!!!

1-13-2007: Turns out I have to smack F.B. because he spent more money on the ring he got me for Christmas than I thought he did... tsk, tsk, tsk. We were talking and I told him if he really wanted to get me another engagement ring some day that I only wanted him to spend $80.00 or under on it for me. And then yesterday I found out that he spent more than that on the ring he got me for Christmas... ack! We talked about it and decided the ring he got me for Christmas would just be my engagement ring. I don't want another ring. I told him I would get it re-sized so it would fit better.

So I took my ring to a jeweler on Street Rd. this afternoon to be resized. They are going to resize it to a 6 1/2. So I'll be able to wear it on the proper finger. I found out the band is white gold, haha. I thought it was sterling silver. It's going to cost $50.00 to resize the ring, but that doesn't matter because it's my engagement ring!!! I miss my ring right now though... the store said they will call in a few days when it's ready to be picked up.

1-17-07: Called the Jeweler, my ring had to be sent out somewhere else to be repaired, cuz it's a little complicated- so I should have it by next week... I miss my ring! I just hope it costs about the same when they call me to come pick it up.

1-27-07: Got my ring back today! Yay! And now my engagement ring fit's on the proper finger. hehe. The little old lady with her husband at the Jewelrer place said, "Congratulations." haha. I'm happy to have it back, I was getting worried, because they said it was taking a little longer and they had had it for 2 weeks now. Now it's back on my finger! It doesn't even look like they did anything to it, I don't get how they resize stuff, haha. Only now, it won't fit over the knuckle on my middle finger, so it was definitely resized. It's purty. hehe.

4 More Days And I'm Off....

4 more days until I'm off to the Philippines! I'm so crazy I started packing stuff last week, lol! I can't wear most of my summer t-shirts anyhow since it's getting colder. So I started packing clothes, toiletries. There's still stuff I have to pack, like my jeans & last minute stuff. But most of it's already packed. I just have to organize things a little better before I leave.

Mom & Dad are taking me to the airport on the 13th. I have to get there a few hours earlier. Prolly around 5:30-6am. My first flight leaves at 8:30am to Chicago... ahhhh everyone pray that day is clear in Chicago, since I heard they were having snow. I just wanna get on that 15 hour flight! Little nervous about getting to Hong Kong. The arrvials is on one level, I'll have to claim my baggage. And then I have to go check in with Philippine Airlines on another level. Hope it's not too confusing. I've got stuff written down in a little book, so I know what level I'm going too & what aisle is for what airline, lol! Since I'll have to do the same thing in Hong Kong, on the way home Jan 3rd.

Contacted T-mobile last week. I wanted to get my cell phone set up for World Roaming. I was on a smart access plan though- where you can't exceed $150.00 or something. So they had to do a credit approval to change me to a regular account. Now my cell phone will be able to Roam Internationally. But it's about $2.99 a minute to roam in the Philippines, so that's for emergency only! lol! I'll still be able to access my voicemail toll free from my cell phone when I'm oversea's though.

My boyfriend & his parents went to check out the hotels we'll be staying at in Makati City & Tagaytay City for a few days each.The hotel in Tagaytay has this amazing view of the lake Taal & volcano. He took some pictures for me. Here's one of them. There's another in his myspace profile, hehe.

Nervous of him finding me at the airport in Manila too, haha! But he & his mom checked out the airport last night & he said it shouldn't be too hard, because there's just one exit for that part of the airport. And if I get lost, just look for a coffee shop near the exit, lol. My mom joked with me, I should just pack my pink Santa hat & if we're having trouble finding each other pull it out & put it on. Yeah... then everyone will really stare at the crazy American girl, with the pink Santa hat, haha!

Went to Barnes & Noble yesterday and picked up 3 books to read on the flight & at the airports. I have to call Borders at Nashaminy today maybe & see if they have one of the books in stock I couldn't find. I also made up about 8 mix c.d.'s for the plane. I don't think my ipod will hold out that long, so I'm taking my cd player.

Still being my insane self and working out during the week... I'm 130... I lost 50 pounds since March. I'm insane... lol! I was 129 the other day... eek...I have to alternate my diet a bit and add a little more meat into it or something. I don't really want to keep losing anymore, but it just keeps happening. I would rather be 130-135. I bought some boneless chicken to have at dinner now.

Having my "Christmas" with my family on the 10th. I already wrapped Christmas gifts for them. We are going to a Chinese Buffet & then coming back to the house to exchange gifts & stuff.

Not much going on. Just stressing out a bit over everything, lol! I'm gonna need some sleeping pills the night before, haha! I'll try to make some updates here: http://www.myspace.com/christianchickslc while I'm away. If not, you can be sure I will, when I get back.

Sigh..... My Poor Ferret...

I took my Ferret Nippy to the vet today, because she's been bald on the upper part of her tail & lower back for a little while. They confirmed what I already thought.... that she has Adrenal Disease. It's very common in Ferrets. It's a hormonal disease that causes hair loss & other symtoms. It occurs in Ferrets 3 years or older. And Nippy is 4 years old. It's a cancer actually.... The doctor said it would cost $168 dollars for blood work though to confirm it, before they could do treatments. And then $124 for the Lupron shots..... *Sigh* It's so expensive. It would cost nearly $700 to get the blood work and the shots- because he said she would probably need 4 treatments of the Lupron. And then they have to keep getting it every several months. I'm probably going to have to wait until I'm back at work, before I can start the bloodwork and everything...

Updating My Xanga

Been awhile since I have been on Xanga. I use Myspace much more now. But I saw all these new features so I decided to make my profile all pretty and I also added photo's to my photo album on here.

My poor little ferret has to go to the Vet tomorrow around 12pm. She's been bald on the top part of her tail, and part of her back for awhile, so she's going for a checkup. Hopefully it's just shedding.

I had that my interview today to get my passport. I took off work 2 hours early to get it done. I went over to the post office around the corner from my house and went in and asked where I went for passport stuff. And the guy goes, "Oh you want the South Hampton post office, up the road. We don't do that stuff here." OMG! I had 5 MINUTES before my appointment. When I saw the Street Road address, I just assumed it was THAT post office. I didn't know there was another one on the same road. I had to "drive creatively" 2 miles up the road in horrible traffic to the OTHER post office on Street Road. I was 10 minutes late for my appointment... but I made it there okay and after all that aggravation it took less then 10 minutes for me to read this little oath, sign my name, have them check out all my identification & write out two checks. And that was that. They will mail it to the state and in 4-6 weeks I should have my passport.

P.S. New Kutless album came out this month. I got it last weekend. Very good! It's their 3rd album (4th technically, because they had that awesome worship album out too.)

My Plane Tickets Came!

Blah, I've been sick allllll weekend. I've had a headcold. It started on Saturday. My temperature has been below normal, and I've had the chills, and a runny/stuffy nose. A nasty cough, headache... it's just been really gross. I took off work Monday & Tuesday and I had to reschedule my tax appointment for next Tuesday. Tomorrow I'll be back at work though. I'm feeling better than I was on Sunday & Monday.

And.... MY PLANE TICKETS CAME TODAY! Yay! In 9 more months I'll be off to the Philippines, to spend the holidays with my boyfriend! Now if I only knew what the heck I'm supposed to do with my tickets, haha. I haven't been on a plane since 1996, and back then my parents took care of all the major stuff. I've never traveled international before. I have to get my passport soon. I think I'll make an appointment to get that done sometime next week closer to payday.
Just a short update for today. I'm still not feeling so great. I lack energy.

Philippines Here I Come!

It's done. I prayed about it and I wasn't feeling as restless today, as I had been the past few days. Today the flight prices went down a few more dollars for the trip I wanted. So I decided to buy the ticket. I had exactly enough in my savings to buy it. It's confirmed. I am going to the Philippines: December 13th 2006- January 3rd 2007. I'll arrive there on the 14th and I'll be home on the 3rd. I'll be spending Christmas & New Years with my boyfriend and his family

My paper tickets should be here tomorrow or on Monday at the latest. And then it's settled. Then I have to get my passport, (already got my pictures.) once I get my tax refund and the rest of this year, I just need to save up the spending $$$ I will need. I'm excited, nervous and scared all in one, lol! But I have 9 months to plan this trip out.

Well... I am stressing right now... I want to buy my plane ticket for the Philippines. It's SO cheap right now. $500 less then the price I was originally looking at. But I'm all confused. I'm thinking all these thoughts now, like what if it snows in December and my flight it delayed!? Stuff like that. But I'm worried... if I don't get this plane ticket right now... then the price may go up... alot, alot, alot... what should I do??? I want to go from December 13th-January 3rd.
